If you unplug the cradle, remember to plug it back to the same USB port
otherwise 'Detecting New Hardware' wizard will appear. Had this problem b4
but quite harmless.

That's on a Windows 2000 Pro machine.

Thanks your response.
but I don't unplug the cradle and it can't get sync or anthing I want to do
in PDA
I know you mean "Detecting New Hardware"
but it just like we plug an CF card (pcmcia converter) to laptop, it shows a
green arrow on a card icon in my tray. Double click it will shows eject
hardware.
How come ?

What's up with the cross post to developer groups?

Anyway...
I had this problem when "Allow USB connection" under Connection settings was
unchecked.

I had the same problem with my Jornada 548. I cannot tell you haw many
hours that I have spent on this thing.
I have exchanged 3, yes 3 Jornadas from HP, this is after several hours of
tech support (that is not a toll free call)
I the list of tech support things that I have tried goes on and on. Unload
drivers, reload drivers. uninstall Active Sync 3.5,
reinstall active sync 3.1, reinstall active sync 3.5, unplug USB cradle,
clean install win98, it goes on and on. Basically Active Sync only works
on the serial port with any dependability.

I've had a similar problem with my cradle. Try another USB port (a free one
or swap with another device). Also, are you connecting from an external USB
hub? Sometimes those aren't very good, so try connecting to a free port
directly from the PC.
