Hi,

Since I installed active sync 3.5 on my PC I am having great difficulty
synchronising the multiple CE devices. I'm using the USB cradle and when I
first plug the USB cable in it synchronises no worries. The little icon goes
green and everyone's happy :) But if I take the device out then put it back
in again. Or put in a different device it won't synchronise it just says
connecting.

Is there a problem with having more than 1 partnership on a PC as I'm
assuming that someone other than me has developed some software that uses
multiple ce devices. And 1 pc that they all synchronise to.

PLeeeease help me save me from the nagging boss :(

Tar

I can report the same problem. I changed my Palm into a Jornada 568. What
was normal in the Palm world - to plug in plug out the device from the USB
cradle - seems to be a big problem still in 2002 using a PocketPC.

I have seen problems with Synced PPCs like this before. If you are not
doinf this already, it's best to disconnect the PPC from the host
before unplugging as it causes problems on the next sync. You can do
this by going to the TODAY screen and clicking on the bottom right
icon for the connection (looks like two cards linked by a wire) which
brings up the connection state. CLick on disconnect and then you
switch off the PPC. I hope if works for you as it has made my syncing
much cleaner and smoother.

All the best.

Okay...

I;'ve been looking in to this alot today and i have everything working now:

Heres what i did:

Un-installed activesync 3.5.

Went into

C:\WIndows\Profiles\application Data\Microsoft

Deleted the Active Sync directory just to make sure none of those pesky
Partnerships were in there.

Re-booted

Re-installed Active Sync 3.5 (Make sure your device isn't connected at this
point unplug the USB cable.

Followed the Get Connection screen. Set up a partnership

On the iPAQ under settings\connections

the part that says automatically connect to the internet using:

I added a new connection and made sure the proxy setttings read "Doesnt
Require an internet conncetion"

This way when you get a connection an annoying dail up connection dialog
box.

Job done... i can take all my pocket pcs in and out and they connect every
time..

Hope this helps you guys.

PS - this is on windows ME so all the stuff about shutting down services
isnt relevant to me!
