Is it possible to merge some entries [for USB SL card reader] to the registry of Windows CE 5.0
device.

I am unable to do that by double click on a .reg file?

If not, can an alternative way be advised please.

Take a look at this editor:
http://ceregeditor.mdsoft.pl/

It has import capability, but requires ActiveSync.

There is no native support for importing registry settings.

In CE 6.0 you can find a simple application that update the registry
from simple XML files:
C:\WINCE600\PUBLIC\IE\SDK\SAMPLES\XML\REGXML
I don't know if it's available also on CE 5.0, but porting the CE 6.0
version and customizing it for your needs isn't that difficult anyway.
