I have a Canon CanoScan LiDE 35. When I install the Vista drivers from the
Canon website and connect the scanner to my notebook, everything seems to
install correctly. It shows up in Device Manager, and the Canon ToolBox
application works fine. However, other applications, like Photoshop or the
USAA online banking program (which uses a Java app to access your scanner for
depositing checks) don't see a scanner installed. Any idea why one program
would see it, but all the programs I really need/want to use don't? Help!

Collin,

It sounds as if the new driver either doesn't have twain support or it isn't
set up correctly by the driver install. Digging around on the net a bit, I
found the link below which sounds like a solution to a problem similar to
what you are describing below.

http://www.everythingusb.com/forums/showthread.php?s=77c924e6d0fbc6bbcc6e4db8950eeebc&threadid=11784

Note that since this is an external link, I can't guarantee or even promise
it'll work.

You could try a search here (not just in this folder) on

CanoScan LiDE 35

since I'm fairly sure I've seen someone get this one working.

Dan,

Thanks for the info. I thought it looked really promising, because I was
sure that some code somewhere wasn't right. As instructed, I modified the
"Path" line in my environment variables, but it unfortunately didn't solve
the problem. Thanks anyway, though!
