It sounds as if the new driver either doesn't have twain support or it isn't
set up correctly by the driver install. Digging around on the net a bit, I
found the link below which sounds like a solution to a problem similar to
what you are describing below.

Thanks for the info. I thought it looked really promising, because I was
sure that some code somewhere wasn't right. As instructed, I modified the
"Path" line in my environment variables, but it unfortunately didn't solve
the problem. Thanks anyway, though!
