Terminal Services Gateway server is temporarily unavailable

My first time setting up a Windows Server 2008 Terminal Services Gateway.
When trying to establish a connection thru the gateway the following dialog
box is displayed:
"This computer can't connect to the remote computer because the Terminal
Services Gateway server is temporarily unavailable. Try reconnecting later or
contact your network administrator for assistance."
I have tried both Vista and XP clients with the same result. All machines
are up to date with patches.
I am using a trial certificate form COMODO which appears to be installed
correctly.
Nothing I have tried has solved this issues. What am I overlooking?

One possible issue:
The problem was related to the fact I had not defined any default gateway on
my clients. If the client doesn't have this information, it seems that it's
not able to send anything to the TS gateway even if this one is on the same
subnet and DSN resolution works fine.
