I hope this isn't old news but, I have a TC1100 with the 802.11 a/b/g
Mini-PCI card (HP W400-500?), it has the Atheros chip so I thought I'd give
it a go and forced the driver * for the DLink Airplus DWL-G520 Wireless PCI
Adapter (rev. B) over the HP WLAN driver as Atheros claims that one-driver
fits all. Now, I have 108Mbps wireless running very nicely to my DLink
DI-624 108Mbps Suger/G router.

I wonder when HP will release their version.

Also, I expect that this might work on other Atheros based cards - test at
your own risk!

Michael.

* You know, select, have disk, yes I know what I'm doing, etc. in device
manager.

Humm... I'm looking at the product photo for the mini-PCI card
(http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/tabletpc/options/wireless.html)
and it doesn't appear to have any antenna leads on the card!!!

How the heck did you attach antenna leads? (I don't have a TC1100, so
I'm curious)

Oops, I see now that the photo is of the reverse side (the notch is to
the right). So, my *real* question is... how many antenna leads are
on this card?

There are two connectors on the board and two wires tucked up inside the
TC1100; it has diversity.

Good tip, I just tried it on mine and is working fine so for , did you get
yours to work with A Band access points or just Super G?

Just a bit of info. The real method of getting wireless 108mbs
according to the 54g standard is by using 802.11g with 802.11g
overlay, which would explain why you got it with a tri-band card.

My tc1100 can't connect my router stablly while adopt AES encryption
mode,
and then i download the D-Link AirPlus DWL-G520 Wireless PCI Adapter
driver from
_'D-Link_High_Speed_2.4GHz_(802.11g)_Wireless_108Mbps_PCI_Adapter'
and force install it,
now the tc1100 can connect my router steadily,
thank Michael Thwaite.
