Hi,

we got a application using parts of the visual basic
runtime environment and now want to use it on
a tablet PC with WIN XP for Tablet PC.
It won't work and the supplier told us that
Microsoft does not support Visual Basis 6.0 on
this operating system.
Is that right?
Any comparable experiences with that issue?
Any hints or solutions?

Thank you for every reply

Michael

Michael,

A number of samples included with the Tablet SDK are written in Visual Basic
6.0. You may want to start there, compile and run those samples.

There are always exceptions, however, generally, Tablets run an XP superset
and if it runs on XP it "should" run on a Tablet. By downloading the SDK
you can perform partial testing and developement on a desktop and get some
idea of how it may run on a tablet, recognition will be limited but some
inking can be observed.

If you have some specific concerns like your app uses something like
"legacy" ports feel free to query the
microsoft.public.windows.tabletpc.developer newsgroup. What exactly "won't
work"?

Good luck, hope this helps.
