I have a Toshiba Portege 3505 and on the start menu is an
annoying little icon entitled "Toshiba Offers", that I
would like to remove. I have tried right clicking on it
to remove it, I have tried using the control panel to
customize the contents of the start menu but it is not
listed there, and many other of the more obvious
solutions. Does anyone have any specific advice on how
to rewove this little advertisement from the start menu.

thanks for any help,
bquick

Try going to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu (or possibly
Programs) and see if you can delete it from there.

Try going into computer settings and click on search.
Enter any info you can think of and search hardrive C. I
find that I can find things there that I though I did
away with by uninstalling but are still in the system
hiding.
Good luck

I had something similar on my Satellite. Don't remember how I got rid of
it, but here are some things to try: See if it is listed in Add/Remove
programs; try clicking it and visiting the site; see if it is listed on the
startup tab of msconfig.

Go into c:\Documents and settings\all users\start menu\ its probably
in there. When you choose customize unde3r the start menu option, it
only shows you what is in c:\documents and settings\(your user name)
\start menu.

Items in the all users section apply to all users of the system and
will be restored by default at next login unless removed from that
folder.
