I am a .Net developer and thought I had a solution for my project. Until, I
see that smart displays seem to have gone the way of the do-do bird. Any
chance that Microsoft is going bring back this technology in the next 5-6
months, or is the first versions of this technology all there will be for a
while?

From a Smart Display branded perspective, no new products are announced/on
the horizon. That said, the technology needed to build wireless webpads
with similar functionality (i.e. support for RDP) is included with Windows
CE and various such devices are currently on the market.

To bad really! My old SimPad SL-4 is one of the most used gadgets
and best buy's ever...

Many of my friends are asking where to find similar HW and if
the price was resonable I'm sure it would be a huge demand.
I can't really understand why MS put everything Smartdisplay
on-hold? One of my own theories is because it inflicted on their
newer "Tablet PC concept" but I'm probably wrong...

Based on my own use and experience I would say there are definitely
a huge market for SmartDisplays if the prise is reasonable!
