New Update (WSUS 3.0 SP1)

I'm using WSUS 3.0 Version: 3.0.6000.374 on Windows Server 2003 R2 with SP2
and the latest patches. Windows Automatic Update is set to inform only.

I see a new update today: KB948014 - Size: 80.1 MB

Microsoft Windows Server Update Services 3.0 Service Pack 1 (WSUS 3.0 SP1)
improvements include support for Windows Server 2008, SQL Server 2008,
enhanced bulk approval capability, separate proxy servers and ports for SSL
and non-SSL traffic, and exporting reports. After you install this item, you
may have to restart your computer.

Is patching WSUS 3.0 as easy as downloading thru Automatic Update, clicking
Install button and reboot? Or should I do this manually (manually download
WSUS 3.0 SP1 then run it)? Is there anything to do before and after
patching? Has anyone installed this update yet?

before initiating the upgrade.

I installed (2) days ago, since then I've been having issues with clients
connecting since:
WU client failed Searching for update with error 0x80244019

I'm now in the process of researching why?

On which port you have installed WSUS? Port 8530 or standard port 80?

Got it figured out, I had ports set correctly, BUT I had to "manually" make
the selfupdate folder on the WUS server in IIS. Once I did that everyone
started talking and reporting in.
