Hi I have photos (raw files) that i have taken of store fronts and small buildings... I would like to convert the files (i am using photoshop cs3 ) to HO scale in my photo program so that the pictueres come out in HO scale ...Can anyone explain how to do this so i can use the printed out pictures as false fronts...As always thanks...Tadd_1020

First you need to locate a dimension or component on the photo of the building that you know the measurements. Measure that part on the photo and you can calculate the "scale of the photo" by a simple ratio. This is easiest if the photo was taken from a point perfectly perpendicular to the wall of the building.

I'm no expert in this, but am of the impression that a straight on photo of a store front could be scaled by using standard measurements - such as doors and some windows - and scaling other dimensions from there, as someone mentioned earlier.

There are other causes of distortion also. Paralax is the converging of lines into the horizon when they are equally distant such as railroad tracks and roads. Mimimizng distortion of a picture of any building requires that the picture be shot from the very center of the building both horizontally and vertically. That means if it is 30' tall you should aim for a spot to shoot from that is 15' in the air and centered on the building side to side. Shooting a zoom shot from a far distance will help reduce this but it will take a sophisticated photo program to eliminate the effects. Best bet may be to place photos of buildings where foreground buildings hide the edges of the photo.

Actually, key-stoning, the distortion you described when photographing tall buildings) is caused by pointing the camera up. If you can keep the sensor parallel to the building, you will not get key-stoning. If you do get it, because you have to point the camera up to get the picture, it is easily fixed using the transform tool in Photoshop.

I use software called Pix4D. It is photogrammetry software designed for taking a photographic dataset from say a drone survey and terrestrial images ( I use my iPhone camera for the terrestrial images but obviously better results are achievable with better cameras.) so Pix4D can produce accurate orthomosasic images (photographic maps) as well as a 3D mesh.

Your iPhone camera photo is in three-point perspective. Three point perspective is a view were you can see perspective in three directions. So there are three vanishing points. there are no parallel vertical lines. The vertical lines also point to a third vanishing point. In the next example the third vanishing point is underneath, because the view is from above.

Being a Pro user, you can use Advanced Camera Tools to set up a SU camera matching your match your digital camera to recreate a photographic scene inside SU. Joshua Cohen use of this method is impressive.

Hey Sam you guys tried Enscape yet?, bloody good man and only 45$ a month (fixed seat), Also supports scenes. With Unity I used the VRTK plugin free on the asset store which is also really good but need to do heaps of post processing/optimization to beautify your model.

Most standard file types are supported; however, for iPhone users the .HEIC format is not currently supported. For cameras RAW formats, we recommend you use Lightroom to convert these images to .jpeg format.

Opening your exported mesh in your model viewer of choice, you should now see something similar to this output. Your reconstruction should also have some parts of the white table below the cherub (which the reconstruction here does not have).

I would just modify the code that is generated by the mlgen tool in Visual Studio to match that of the tutorial example! I've occasionally found that the mlgen tool outputs some wonky code for formatting the model...

1 year ago, the company i work for purchased a cnc machine and i was

given the task of learning to operate it . my experience (and i do not

claim to be an expert) has been that to create a mesh from a photo

or raster image of any kind takes a lot of careful preparation . any shading

will be read as a height variation. in your photo, the central vein has

shadows which will cause the vein to be deformed and not round like

i imagine you would like. at best, the photo should be considered as a

rough start. if you take the photo into photoshop or a simelar package,

you might be able to smooth it out some but i doubt if this will give you

a final product .

When the first instant photo was taken 75 years ago with a Polaroid camera, it was groundbreaking to rapidly capture the 3D world in a realistic 2D image. Today, AI researchers are working on the opposite: turning a collection of still images into a digital 3D scene in a matter of seconds.

Creating a 3D scene with traditional methods takes hours or longer, depending on the complexity and resolution of the visualization. Bringing AI into the picture speeds things up. Early NeRF models rendered crisp scenes without artifacts in a few minutes, but still took hours to train.

Photogrammetry is the art and science of extracting 3D information from photographs. The process involves taking overlapping photographs of an object, structure, or space, and converting them into 2D or 3D digital models.

The process of utilizing aircrafts to produce aerial photography that can be turned into a 3D model or mapped digitally. Now, it is possible to do the same work with a drone. Drones have made it easier to safely capture hard-to-access or inaccessible areas where traditional surveying could be dangerous or impractical.

Close-range photogrammetry is when images are captured using a handheld camera or with a camera mounted to a tripod. The output of this method is not to create topographic maps, but rather to make 3D models of a smaller object.

ReCap Photo is our cloud-connected solution tailored for drone/UAV photo capturing workflows. Using ReCap Photo, you can create textured meshes, point clouds with geolocation, and high-resolution orthographic views with elevation maps.

You can add your own customshapes to the shape menu. Shapes are Collada (.dae) 3D model files. To add a shape, place the Collada model file in the Presets\Meshesfolder inside the Photoshop program folder.

(Optional) Use the Spherical Panorama option if you are using a panoramic image as your 2D input. This option converts a complete 360 x 180 degree spherical panorama to a 3D layer. Once converted to a 3D object, you can paint areas of the panorama that are typically difficult to reach, such as the poles or areas containing straight lines. For information on creating a 2D panorama by stitching images together, see Create 360 degree panoramas.

The New Mesh from Grayscale command converts a grayscaleimage into a depth map, which translates lightness values into asurface of varying depth. Lighter values create raised areas inthe surface, darker values create lower areas. Photoshop then appliesthe depth map to one of four possible geometries to create a 3Dmodel.

Usingthe Photoshop Animation timeline, you can create 3D animations that movea 3D model through space and change the way it displays over time. You can animate any of the following properties of a 3D layer:

3D object or camera position. Use the 3D position orcamera tools to move the model or 3D camera over time. Photoshopcan tween frames between position or camera movements to createsmooth motion effects.

3. The next step is to upload your PNG to a program that converts the PNG image to SVG. You can use the Convertio.com link here or alternatively autotracer.com link here. (Good to have multiple options in case something goes wrong or a link dies over time.)

5. Next import the STL model into TinkerCad. STL file types are normally difficult to work with; they are kind of like the pdf of the 3d world. TinkerCad is a simple & free tool mostly intended for empowering kids but its ability to easily edit STL files makes it rare and valuable.

Put your product on a model this person does not exist with your brand look in minutes, not weeks. Get a realistic view of your products on an ethnically diverse range of digital models, generated ZMO's AI Model image generator.

The Keras Sequential model consists of three convolution blocks (tf.keras.layers.Conv2D) with a max pooling layer (tf.keras.layers.MaxPooling2D) in each of them. There's a fully-connected layer (tf.keras.layers.Dense) with 128 units on top of it that is activated by a ReLU activation function ('relu'). This model has not been tuned for high accuracy; the goal of this tutorial is to show a standard approach.
