Hi,

Say, if I know a computer by name, can I enumerate the
workgroup name from that machine by a script? These are
all NT (gag) machines.

Thanks,
Bill

Hi

Here is a "screen shot" of Netdom.exe v1.8 (I have renamed netdom.exe to
netdom18.exe to avoid name conflicts with newer versions):

F:\>NETDOM18 MEMBER %computername% /QUERY
NetDom 1.8 @1997-98. Written by Christophe Robert - Microsoft.

Querying domain information on computer \\Y1234567 ...
The computer \\Y1234567 is not a domain member and is part of the Workgroup
HDA.

Netdom.exe version 1.8 dated 30. June 1999 can be downloaded from the
following Microsoft FTP site:

ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/reskit/nt4/x86/
self extracting zip file file: netdom_x86.exe
