I have Small Business Server 2003 SE and Dynamics SL (Solomon) running on the
same server. I need to add an additional server to the environment. The SBS
installation was not done properly and needs to be redone anyway so I want to
move SBS to the new server. My question is this. If I uninstall SBS down to
the level of the baseline 2003 server, and then reinstall Windows Server 2003
can I preserve my Solomon installation? I have a separate SQL Server 2000
license and would purchase 2003 server and run the current server as a member
server. I would then do a fresh install of SBS on the new server and move
the existing server into the domain.

Alex,

This project can be completed effectively by the process of Swing Migration
as illustrated on my website at www.SBSmigration.com allowing you to
reintroduce a new non-SBS server to replace the original by giving you a
clean server installation that looks transparently like the original to
whatever degree you want.

My website doens't currently explain that SBS 2003 to SBS 2003 is a project
path I support, as well as SBS 2003 to Windows 2003.

I can answer more questions about this if you would like.

Absolutely swing with Jeff! Also I don't believe there is any supported way
to do what you want: "uninstall SBS down to the level of the baseline 2003
server, and then reinstall Windows Server 2003"
