Dave
Thank you for posting to the SBS Newsgroup.
I understand that domain computers cannot connect SBS 2K3 Server. If I have
misunderstood your concern, please let me know.
Please take your time to read through all my information and then try my
suggestions. If the issue persists, please help to gather more detail
information for further research:
==========
Suggestions:
Please make sure that your Network Configuration is like following:
On SBS server:
External NIC:
IP: assigned by your ISP or your hardware router
Gateway: your ISP or your Hardware router IP
DNS: SBS INTERNAL NIC IP as the only entry
Internal NIC:
IP: Fixed IP
Gateway: None
DNS: SBS INTERNAL NIC IP as the only entry
On workstation:
IP: Assigned by DHCP on SBS
Gateway: SBS internal NIC IP
DNS: SBS INTERNAL NIC IP as the only entry
1. I strongly suggest that we follow the KB article below to rerun the
Configure E-mail and Internet Connection Wizard. Please understand that
this is a very important wizard and step when we start to troubleshoot
Network issue.

2003
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=825763
2. Please install DNS server on the SBS server and then configure the
server for Internet access per:
306802 How to Configure Small Business Server for Full Time Internet Access
with Two Network Adapters
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=306802

Network Adapter

==========
After we perform all the steps in Suggestions part and if the issue
persists, please help to gather following information for research:
1. Do you have ISA Server installed? if yes, what is the edition, ISA 2K or
ISA 2K4?
2. Where did you place the Watchguard SOHO6 router? In LAN (between Server
and Client workstations) or in front of the SBS Server?
3. What is your Network Topology? For example:
a. {Internet} {Router} {NIC1} {SBS + ISA} {NIC2} {Router} {Internal
Clients} OR
b. {Internet} {Router} {NIC1} {SBS + ISA} {NIC2} {Internal Clients}
4. On SBS Server, and one of the problematic client workstations, open a
command window, type "ipconfig /all" (without quotation marks) and paste
the full result to the Newsgroup.
5. Do you mean you cannot ping SBS Server by name, IP address or neither of
them?
6. On SBS Server, open a command window, type "nslookup ServerName" (please
replace the ServerName as your real ServerName and pleaes exclude the
quotation marks). Paste the full result to the Newsgroup.
Please take your time to perform the steps above and collect the
information for us to troubleshoot your issue. If anything is unclear,
please feel free to let me know. I am looking forward to hearing from you!
Best regards,
Brandy Nee
