Had company web running just fine thank you even finding it on other PC's in
my little test net. Then I did something stupid. I'm not really sure what.
(I was trying to get FP 2003 on a client PC to access it. In the process of
that I reset the permissions in internet admin to read/write/list directory
which seemed a sensable thing at the time for FP 2003 not wanting to fire up
the page.)

At any rate the default.??? and any other interesting contents of the
companyweb have disappeared. Any way to get them back from the install disks
short of completely reinstalling the intranet?

There are a lot of default.* files on disks 2 and 3 but none of them seem to
be the one I need.

Oh well.

Thanks in advance

Regards,
Al

More information. I need to read the manual some day, if i can find one:-)

If I enter http://companyweb i get the Internet save/open as dialog box.
If I enter http://companyweb/default.aspx i get the correct home page.

Ergo I've obviously screwed up my companyweb properties pages somehow. But
not clear how.

'course now i have to figure out where the default.aspx is stored. All smoke
and mirrors to me.

Suggestions please.

Al

Properties of Companyweb in IIS, Documents tab, you should have
Default.htm, Default.asp, index.htm, and Default.aspx.
