Is there a way to limit what a user sees in RWW?

OK. Now that I have RWW up and running. Is it possible to limit what a user
sees based on that user? In otherwords, if I as the admin activate the usage
reports, I should be seeing the links for the usage reports. At the same
time Joe User should not be able to see the links to the usage reports.

I hope this is making sense. Maybe a better way of saying this is, I'm not
only trying to limit access, but I'm also trying to limit what links show up
based on the permissions of the user. Is this possible?

Hi Cannon,

Yes, that kind of filtered view is standard. Only those allowed to see the
useage report will be able to see it. You need to logon to RWW as users with
different permissions to see what they see.

For example, login in with Administrative rights, and you'll have different
links than a user.

I suspect your are making your user account a member of the administrator
group. DDT. You should have separate accounts for administering the
network/server, versus using it. IE, you should be either a user, or an
administrator, but never both at the same time.

Yes. Just as Les has mentioned, this function has already been realized in
RWW. What you need to do is to divide different users into different groups.

By default, after a usre logging on, the user is presented with a blank
page that has the text Loading… centered on it until the appropriate page
(Knowledge Worker or Administrator Web Page) is loaded. The page is chosen
based on the user credential. Non-administrators are redirected to the
Knowledge Worker Page, while Administrators are redirected to the
Administrator Page

If the authenticated user is only a member of Web Workplace Users group but
not the Administrators group, the user is presented with the Knowledge
Worker Web Page. It contains a welcome message, a sign out link, and links
to SharePoint, Outlook Web Access, Client Help, and Computer Desktop, and
Terminal Server. It also has a link to download Connection Manager. If any
of these features are not installed, the link will not be displayed.

The Administrator Web Page is shown to all users belonging to the Domain
Admins group. All possible links, grouped into Administrative Tasks and
Additional Links, are available to administrators from this page, except
the server reports. These links are only available if you publish them
using CEICW.

The registry keys under
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\SmallBusinessServer\RemoteUserPortal\AdminLinks are
used to enable and disable links on Remote Web Workplace Administrator
Page.
0 = Hide the link
1 = Show the link

Similarly, the registry keys under
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\SmallBusinessServer\RemoteUserPortal\KWLinks are
used to enable and disable links on Remote Web Workplace Knowledge Worker
Page.
0 = Hide the link.
1 = Show the link
