WSUS not detecting but not downloading updates...

and gets a list of updates to install however it won't download the
updates and I get Event ID: 364 in the log which states:
Content file download failed. Reason: Error calling
[kernel32.dll]:CreateDirectory(L:\WSUS\WsusContent\22) Source File:
Destination File: .
I have checked the permissions and all seems to be as it should be...
The softwaredistribution.log file says this when I attempt to retry
downloading the files:

The problem should be a WSUS problem; I would suggest you post it in the

After I posted I suddenly thought that WSUS doesn't strictly come under
the banner of SBS,
However I did manage to fix the problem, and here is the solution for
anyone who may encounter the same issue.
The problem was that there was a permissions problem. The
\WSUS\WsusContent folder should have Full Control of Modify permissions
for the NETWORK SERVICE user which are inherited by child objects. This
was preventing access for the location into which the downloaded
updates were to be downloaded.
I hope this helps and in future I shall post to the correct group.
