My Linksys WRT54G appears to be preventing my GRE-
protocol 47 from being forwarded to my server's nic. I
can RWW to my server but cannot RAS.

I have PPTP Passthrough "enabled" and the proper ports
are open.

Linksys support told me the solution was to open ports:
47 TCP/UDP
50 TCP
1723 TCP (already open)
500 UDP

This didn't do anything.

Does anyone have any insight how to get GRE-protocol 47
to passthrough a Linksys router??

Do you have the latest Bios/firmware on the linksys?

I am having the same problem on my dlink DSL604 router.
The only way I've mangaged so far was to de-militerize
zone (DMZ thingy) the forwarding IP (server IP), then it
works fine. But that takes away the firewall capabilities
of the router. Now that leaves SBS to do the firewall
stuff - does it have enough firewall?

I've been working on this issue for 2 months.

I returned to the Linksys website and found that they had
RECENTLY posted a firmware upgrade. One of it's upgrades
is to "Resolve issues with PPTP passthrough". I installed
it and....I'M IN!!!! (*dance of joy!*) All that time
spent on a manufacturer's error....

I don't like the idea of removing any firewalls if
possible. The more barriers the better.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU Marina Roos & Ray Fong!
