A SBS 2003 client had a webmaster import a website to their default. Settings
were changed to get the pages to display internal and external. Since these
changes were made, OWA acts different. THe login page is replaced by a login
dialog box. After logging in, OWA displays all mailboxes in directory browse
format. You can select your mailbox and all folders display the same. Any
ideas on how to correct the problem. One other note, the Internet and E-Mail
wizard will not start up - says that DHCP must be running and a scope defined
(which it is running and a scope is defined).

Possibly because you do not have or do not point to an index.html file, but
pointing to the root of the web

HI JIM,

Welcome to SBS newsgroup.

Issue description:
==============

I understand that you encountered problem with your default website.

Analyzing and suggestions:
===============

Generally speaking, this issue should be caused by the IIS default
configuration for the website has been changed. Please refer to my
suggestion below to see if the issue can be resolved:

1. Navigate to: <server name> | Web Sites | Default Web Site | Exchange.
2. Right-click Exchange and select "Properties". Click the "Virtual
Directory" tab.
3. At the bottom, under "Application Settings", click the Configuration
button.
4. In the Application Configuration window, under "Wildcard application
maps", click "Insert".
5. In the Add/Edit Application Extension Mapping window, click "Browse".
6. Browse to "Program Files\ExchSrvr\bin\davex.dll" and click the Open
button.
7. In the "Executable:" text box, place quotation marks around the file
path.
8. Click OK three times to exit.

For CEICW issue, the CEICW will detect the DHCP server on SBS 2003 domain
first when running it to configure SBS domain network. Please make sure
that on your SBS domain, only one DHCP server existing, if you have a
router, please disable the DHCP function on the router as a test to see if
the issue still exist or not?

1. If the issue still exists, please run ipconfig/all and paste the results
to newsgroup, please run it on the SBS server side and client side. We need
to get more information about SBS internal network.

2. Please also check your event view to paste any related DHCP error or
warning messages.
3. Please also check your icwlog.txt, this will record detailed error
message, you can rerun CEICW to reproduce the issue and paste the latest
log information to the newsgroup.

For how to run CEICW, we suggest you refer to the following KB article for
detailed information:

2003

I really appreciate your effort on this issue; please feel free to post
back. I am glad to be of further assistance.

Best regards,

Charles Yang (MSFT)

Charles,

I ran the CEICW vbs script last night and it reset the default page to the
server and brought back the OWA login screen. If I log into OWA with
domain\user name and password, it comes backm with The page cannot be
displayed and an HTTP 500 error. I did follow the steps you provided, but
nothing changed. I am sure that it is an IIS default setting that was
changed, so any other ideas would be helpful.

HI,

Thanks for letting us know that you have resolved the problem by your
effort. Just as my reply can only resolve the default page issue, if you
enounctered HTTP 500 error, it should be the exchange VD issue. This should
be a good sharing for all the SBS user in this newsgroup.

If you have any further concerns, please feel free to post back. Have a
nice weekend.

Best regards,
