I have just started using a Windows 2003 server and have noticed that the
computer will "hang" for approx. 30 seconds while doing various tasks. It is
a brand new server so I con't believe it is a hardware issue. Occasionally I
receive a mmc.exe error report after reboot. Has anyone else seen this
problem? or have any idea of why I am getting this error? Thanks in advance
for any help.

Hello,

What is the exact error message about "mmc.exe"? Please check the event log
in win2k3 server by keying "eventvwr.msc" in Run box. What is the exact
error?

Technically speaking, the server will take some time when loading multiple
services simultaneously. It is common phenomenon.

I suggest you refer to the following article to perform a Clean Boot of
win2k3 server to see if third-party application or service has caused this
issue, it is the same steps in win2k3 server:

If you are concerned about mmc error, please download the MPS report tool
from the following link and send the result (CAB) file to me for research.
This log file can help me clarify the computer configuration.

915706/MPSRPT_SETUPPerf.EXE>

1. Double click this file to run it.
2. After that, please go to C:\windows\MPSReports\Setup\Reports\Cab .
3. Find a file named [COMPUTERNAME]_MPSReports.CAB
4. Send this cab file to me at v-r...@microsoft.com

Any update, let us get in touch!
