We are in the process of planning a 2000 to 2003 AD upgrade. I read the
article KB298138 but that talks about moving it from one server to another.
In our production upgrade I would like to keep the CA on the same server and
just do an inplace upgrade. Is there anything i need to do to the CA for the
inplace ugprade? thanks

Hello,

Good to hear from you.

Generally speaking, there is no known issue to upgrade from win2k to win2k3
with CA.

In addition, after the upgrade, when you first open the certificate
templates MMC snap-in, the system will prompt to write new certificate
templates, you just click OK to let the template upgrade automatically.

Refer to the following article for more information. Please pay extra
attention to the snippet "Upgrading from Version 1 to Version 2 Certificate
Templates".

Hope this helps. If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to get
in touch!

Best regards,
