Hi,

I'm trying to install a mail service with windows server 2003.
I've configured pop3 and smtp services and I've created a mailbox.
I can send mail with my smtp server.
But when I try to send a mail to the mailbox I've created, I never receive
it.
I noticed that the mail is always stored in the 'Drop' directory of the
server but never in the mailbox directory. Why ?

If somebody has an idea.

Thanks

Check the Relay options in the SMTP settings.

It's the same with the Relay option.

i add 2 precisions :
- when i use the default smtp server of windows, it work.
But when i add a new smtp server i have the problem.
- when i add my domain in pop3 service this domain is added in the default
smtp server but not in the smtp server i've created.

If it can help you to have another idea.
Me, i don't have another !

Thanks

Hi,

Why would you like to have 2 and more SMTP VIrtual Server on the same box? I
would say that you use an alias if you are going to have more than one host
name.

Logical yes, but I wouldn't go through the hassle troubleshooting the issue
when I can just use the default SMTP Virtual server.
