Hi - I have been receiving a repeated error (event ID
8003 The master browser has received a server
announment .....) since I aded a new client workstation
to our domain. The server is a W2K Server SP4 and the
client is XP Pro SP1. Both machines have a static IP.
Also, DNS is hosted externally from this server so
clients are using the server IP for DNS. The MRxSmb error
occurs usually every 1/2 hour. I read an article stating
that if the subnet is different on the server and client
this problem will occur. We have only one subnet and the
address is the same on both machines. I also read that
if you have a Cisco router and do not have UDP forwarded
you can get this problem - this has also been eliminated
as a culprit. Is there settings on the XP machine that
could cause this error.
