What does Microsoft propose for an organization where servers are isolated
and cannot use Windows Update?
Has Microsoft provided a comprehensive list of actions to be taken in this
situation?

"If you are installing SP2 on a computer running SP1, to ensure that certain
applications and components (such as Windows .NET Framework 2.0) function
properly, install SP2 by using Microsoft Update
(http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=85856). "
Without WU or WSUS available in a segmented network what is the resolutions
required and for what components other than the one mentioned?

I know they are not saying the ONLY way to ensure certain app function
properly is to install SP2 via Windows update.
They are just saying Windows update is the official site to use to get the
official MS SP2. If you download it from Windows update and burn it to CD,
you got the MS "official" SP 2 release from Windows update.

Download it from the official MS site and burn it to disk or use USB and
install it from there or over the network. We do it allways that way without
any problem. Or you can use WSUS (freeware) or SMS from MS.

Would be nice if they took a little more care in their release notes since
they are being read by technical implemeters of their products.
