Hi,

I'm running Windows DNS and DHCP servers at 192.168.12.112 and
192.168.12.113 using the following three Scope Options
003 Router = 192.168.12.1
006 DNS Servers = 192.168.12.113, 192.168.12.112, 192.168.12.1
015 DNS Domain Name = MyDomain.local

This config seems to work just fine on my workstations, but I've found at
least one that is not being updated with it and I don't understand why.
When I run "ipconfig /all" on this one workstation, it displays invalid DNS
Servers. Below, it is showing two of my old and obsolete DNS servers, not
the ones in my current DHCP config. Where is the workstation obtaining
these two invalid addresses if not from my DHCP Server? (192.168.12.111,
192.168.21.113 no longer exist)

Hi
3 things
1-Check if the DHCP scopes are correctly configured.
2-Check if the DNS isn't manually defined on that workstation.
3-Riun ipconfig /release and then /renew.

Hello Bob,

I'm Sean Cai from Microsoft CIBS OS & APP team and I'll helping you on this
issue. Regarding your description of the problem: extra DNS server is set
on one workstation. If I have misunderstood, please let me know.

First thank to Jorge Silva for the key in. It's greatly appreciated.

Please try the following steps to check local DNS settings on the
workstation:
1, Navigate to Control Panel->Network connections
2, Double click network connection
3, Click Properties
4, Click TCP/IP and click properties again
5, Set the settings to "Obtain DNS server address automatically"
6, Click OK twice
7, Run command "ipconfig /renew" and "ipconfig /all" check whether the DNS
setting is correct.

I hope the information above can address your concerns. If anything is
unclear, please feel free to let us know.

I feel like a dope. Yes, the problem was that ONE machine had the DNS
manually entered. Thanks!

Bob.
