can't log in on server using workstation

good day!
i have a problem logging in on server (windows 2003 enterprise) using the
workstation.
it says (the system cannot log you on now because the ___ domain is not
available)

also have problem when i reset the password of a workstation in server
then i try to log in on workstation with the new password there's no outcome
it means password doesn't change at all.

is it a dns problem
please help!!! answers will be highly appreciated

Are you able to log in to the workstation using a local username and
password? If so can you pin the server by ip and also by dns name? Does the
ip configuration on the workstation include using the Domain Controller as a
dns server?s dns correctly installed on the DC? It sounds like the
workstation can't find a SRV record for a DC when it is searching DNS, hence
the domain is unavailable error. The SRV record will only be available on a
DC, assuming the zone is AD integrated.

From the workstation can you PING the server by name or IP address? Also in
the log onto section of the logon dialog box is it set to the domain or the
local pc?
