Have been getting the following events logged on the two
DC's in my domain. It seems that the two DNS servers do
not want to play nice:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: DNS
Event Category: None
Event ID: 4015
Date: 5/13/2004
Time: 9:50:27 AM
User: N/A
Computer: DC_Prime
Description:
The DNS server has encountered a critical error from the
Active Directory. Check that the Active Directory is
functioning properly. The extended error debug information
(which may be empty) is "000021A2: SvcErr: DSID-030A09EE,
problem 5001 (BUSY), data 0". The event data contains the
error.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

Event ID: 4514

User: N/A
Computer: DC_Second
Description:
The DNS server detected that it is not enlisted in the
replication scope of the directory partition
DomainDnsZones.company.com. This prevents the zones that
should be replicated to all DNS servers in the
keatsconnelly.com domain from replicating to this DNS
server. For information on how to add a DNS server to the
replication scope of an application directory partition,
please see Help and Support.

To create or repair the domain-wide DNS directory
partition, open the the DNS console. Right-click the
applicable DNS server, and then click 'Create Default
Application Directory Partitions'. Follow the instructions
to create the default DNS application directory
partitions. For more information, see 'To create the
default DNS application directory partitions' in Help and
Support.
The error was 9002.

Event Source: DNS
Event Category: None
Event ID: 3000
Date: 5/13/2004
Time: 10:36:29 AM
User: N/A
Computer: DC_Second
Description:
The DNS server has encountered numerous run-time events.
To determine the initial cause of these run-time events,
examine the DNS server event log entries that precede this
event. To prevent the DNS server from filling the event
log too quickly, subsequent events with Event IDs higher
than 3000 will be suppressed until events are no longer
being generated at a high rate.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

Does anyone out there know what these messages mean and
what I should check/do?

Thank you,

Mike

I have a server i'm getting this error on quite a bit recently as well. Just started within the last month. I also get a Netlogon event just prior to DNS crashing or Just after... i'm trying to identify why this error occurs. DCDIAG passes all tests, and after a server restart i dont see this error for several hours (15-48 hours) then i'll get it again, and the server falls down and goes boom.

After searching I found that MS article Q267855 had the
answer, well at least part of the answer. Am still having
issues with DNS on DC_Prime, but will resolve those also,
eventually. =)
