I have AD with two
existing DC's I
added a third and
it wreplicated
everything other
than DNS. There
were no errors in
the eventlog.
However the sysvol
share remains
unshared and thus
the server is not
operating a s a DC.
I reinstalled and
exactly the same.
I then reinstalled
and found that
when I went
ipconfig /registerd
ns I got the above
error message, I
think this is
stopping DNS from
replicating and
stopping the
server acting as a
DC?
ANy ideas???
Thanks

From below: Doesn't sound like DCPromo every completely or
maybe you didn't run it.

What does DCDiag say?

Did you install the DNS server?

IF DNS is replicated by AD then it pretty
much has to replicate it if it replicates the other
AD stuff (except perhaps in weird application
partition or forest replication cases.)

IF DNS is to be replicated by DNS as a secondary
then you have to create the zone and setup the
replication from the Master (e.g., Primary etc.)
