Whenever i change the Ipaddress or the Hostname of a client, this doesnt gets
updated in Dns. I have checked the "Register this connection's address in
DNS" check box in DNS tab of Tcp/ip properties. If i try to do this in
command Prompt through ipconfig/Registerdns command, iam getting error as
Windows 2000 IP Configuration

Error: The system cannot find the file specified.
: Refreshing DNS names
Iam using Win2000 Prof Sp4 clients and Win2000 Adv Server as DNS.
Please help me to fix this Problem.

Thanks and Regards
Baskaran B

You mean ipconfig /registerdns or ipconfig/registerdns? The latter is
incorrect.

Sounds like you disabled the DHCP client service. The DHCP client service is
a required service.
