I am getting the following error from all of my AD DNS Servers. The
DNS is active directory integrated with all the domain controllers (6
in total) getting the same error. All Domaion Controllers/DNS servers
are pointing at a different DNS as their primary with themselves being
their own secondary DNS. All DNS servers are saying the AD zone is
corrupt.

Event Type: Error
Event Source: DNS
Event Category: None
Event ID: 4011
Date: 4/08/2006
Time: 11:13:07
User: N/A
Computer: XXXXXXXX
Description:
The DNS server was unable to add or write an update of domain name
_ldap in zone dcb.mil.au to the Active Directory. Check that the
Active Directory is functioning properly and add or update this domain
name using the DNS console. The extended error debug information (which
may be empty) is "0000208D: NameErr: DSID-031001C6, problem 2001
(NO_OBJECT), data 0, best match of:
'CN=MicrosoftDNS,DC=DomainDnsZones,DC=XXX,DC=XXX,DC=XX'". The event
data contains the error.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can fix this

Thanks

Hi Tony:

Which one of your DCs has the FSMO roles? That one should point to itself
as primary DNS.

... and the other DCs should point to it as their primary DNS too.

Or not. Having spouted off, now I'm not sure at all that what I said is
necessary or even correct. It's just how I have it here and I'm running
error-free. Perhaps better to wait until someone with more experienced than
me to help. It's late.
'Nite.

Thanks Randy. I'm currently getting Microsoft to look at my problem.
I am generating MPSRPT_DirSvc reports for them, so hopefully they will
be able to tell me how to fix my problem.

The data part of this event points to a error code 20 (that's hex) and that
means: "The process cannot access the file because it is being used by
another process."

Could be some other application locking the zone files? Any other errors or
warnings in the event logs?
