Anyone know how to backup and recover the DFSR configuration in
windows 2003 R2?
I haven't used DFS namespace.

i'm not sure to understand your question but you can maybe make this :
the DFS configuration is located in the registry and/or AD, then just
making a full system backup all the days and you will be surely protect :)
(you can find a xml file for windows 2008 dfs in each server but it will be
rebuild with ad information)
you can export with the dfsutil command the configuration of your DFS
structure, then reimport it later if you would.

Hi,
Is that dfsutil can export the DFSR (replication, not namespace)
configuration???? Seems like dfsutil only work for namespace.......
So 2 case here if total crashed on one of the DFS memeber (Please note
that I only use DFS replication, no namespace):
1. Re install server, install DFS service, restore File backup and
structure, import the DFS configuration (Rep group, Rep folders) by
dsfutil. Will the replication work?
2. Re install server, install DFS service, restore File backup and
structure. Will the DFS automatically get the DFS configuartions (Rep
group, Rep folders) from AD, and other DFS members regconize the new
server and start replicate?
Please advise a good recover procedure for total crash case.
Thx,
