After correcting problem where server 2003 standard thought it was part of a
cluster, I still can't access the Logical Disk manager. I keep getting told
that I do not have access rights to the Logical Disk Manager.

Hi J,

Is this the issue you're running it to?

When you start the Logical Disk Manager (LDM) MMC snap-in, you may get the
following error message:

Can't create connection to server SERVERNAME.

You may also receive Error Code 80070005:

Access is denied.

If so, then check if one of the following items resolves your problem,:

- Make sure you are logged on with administrator rights.

- Check that the Logical Disk Manager service is started. To check the
service, go to Administrative Tools and select System Service
Management. If LDM is NOT started, right-click it and select Start. Note
any error messages.

- Run hardware diagnostics and check cables and termination in your drive
chain.

I am logged on as a member of the Administrators Group of the machine. When I
run "Computer Management" and select "Disk Management", I get a message "You
do not have access rights to Logical Disk Manager on PCC-PE2600-001". The
message is from the LDM.

LDM is started. I have stopped and started it. No errors.

This problem occured when the computer decided it was part of a cluster. The
computer had been running about eight months as a "Windows Server 2003
Standard" with no problems. Per another posting here, I modified the registry
to get it to recognize that it was not part of a cluster. But, that mod did
not get it to let me back into the LDM.
