Anytime I click on a user in Active Directory the whole
active directory freezes up for about a minutes. I'm
getting no errors in event viewer. Please help.

Which machine is running AD Users/Computers and which machine is
it connected to?
Many people (incorrectly) assume that you must (and are) always run
the MMC on the DC you manage.
Usually such problems are caused by network (or name resolution) problems.
