I'm reading the instructions on
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/926139
and it says

"If you install a Windows service pack as an upgrade after you install
Windows PowerShell 1.0, you cannot uninstall Windows PowerShell 1.0. "

What kind of bologna is that?
CAN'T
Really!

I've got Server 2003 and Service Pack 2 was installed after
PowerShell.

I know somebody can help

Thanks

From that KB:
"If you have installed a service pack as an update, you can uninstall
Windows PowerShell 1.0. However, you should uninstall the service pack
update before you uninstall Windows PowerShell 1.0. Uninstalling the
Windows PowerShell 1.0 update after you apply a service pack update is
considered uninstalling in the wrong order. This might jeopardize the
operating system. Updates should only be uninstalled in the reverse
order in which they were installed."

Is this a production machine?

It may as well be production.
The test machine 'is' production for most of us.
There is little difference in the trouble I'd be in if I crashed
it ;-)
Anyway, that was just what I needed.
Worked like a charm.
Thanks.
I can finally take my laptop home (our former CTP test machine!).

PowerShell v1.0 is technically a hot fix so once you install the Service
pack it is cemented into place. You might be able to manually rip it
out. Most of the files are found in
C:\Windows\system32\WindowsPowerShell and you'd need to search through
the registry and manually clean out those references.

I knew this topic sounded familiar. Now all we need is a PowerShell
script to do the cleanup and removal. :-)
