wmc stuttering nbc cbs astc 2016

Is anyone still out there? Machines that worked before no longer work;
sony entertianment center
(round white pc and old 7334n pavillion w 3gm and gt9500. both stutter
on live tv ota astc cbs and
nbc only. no frame switching rates identified on diagnostics screen.
pinnicle 801e on pavillion and
something else usb on the sony. in roof antenna with 20 db amp (lots of
splitters) provides all green
signal strength. tested with desktop antenna to eliminate oversat but no
change in stutter. moved
801e with big and small antennas to dell 745 with 4gb, ssd os and write
to 750 hybrid with gt720.
Stutter is gone but as soon as you move the mouse across the browser, it
stutters! It looks like a
buffer/write speed problem. BTW, on the other two machines cbs will work
for a minute or
two before stuttering continually so again some kind of buffer/memory
issue.

I looked at other pvc software but it all still seems too complicated (ie
setting up kodi). so is the
answer just to build a better pc with a bit more memory? I would like to
have two tuners on one
machine and i'm a long way from that.. This all used to work on a lot
less hardware, ie no
graphics card in the analog days.

And I was so happy when I resolved the guide issue............

Help pls if you've been down this road.
