Hi there,
I'm using MCE 2005 but i have an iPod (may replace if a PMC based iPod
killer turns up) so i still use iTunes as well to manage my MP3s. I
have found a nice piece of software on the net called musicbridge that
allows you to copy you iTunes ratings, artwork and playlists and i also
use another 3rd party program to import artwork onto my MP3s from
amazon so that the artwork appears on my iPod. Once i had this all
sorted out i was pretty happy with myself as i was able move
(apparently) seemlessly between using iTunes and MCE depending on my
needs at any one time. However, I never noticed a few things that i
wondered anyone could give any input:

1) After playing a song that I had fully tagged (including artwork)
using iTunes in MCE, i noticed that the Artwork was no longer appearing
in iTunes. It was as if by playing in MCE (or windows Media Player),
that the system was stripping the artwork from the ID3v2 tag. I also
noticed that my the y value in the 'x of y' tracklisting has been
stripped as well.

2) MCE appears to be reading the ID3v1 tag in a record instead of the
ID3v2. Is this standard? If so, is the only way of solving my problem
to remove the ID3v1 tags?

3) This might be due to something else but if have a feeling that MCE
has added ID3v1 tags to some of my MP3s without my knowing - I tag all
of my music through iTunes and i iTunes' own CDDB link to get the data.
Despite that, a couple of my 'Smashing Pumpkins' CDs are coming up as
'The Smashing Pumpkins'.

Any ideas?
