WMP11, WPMC, gigabeatS 60G and USB connector

I finally replaced the battery in my Toshiba gigabeatS 60 and it once again
will take a charge throught the AC input and the USB port (the "charging"
icon comes on using either one). However, when I try to Sync... WMP 11
suddenly doesn't recognize the device! "GigabeatS" is still listed as a
device and a partnership but, NO DING; no "Start Sync" -- no nothin'. I've
tryed another USB, it also charges but can't communicate.

WPMC is Version 2.11 (632) gigabeatS Platform Version1.1 (632.4)

I have a 3-page support info.xps if that would help but I'm afraid it may
not. If there is another way to salvage the partnership, new firmware, harsh
language, whatever... Please help
