And possibly ask in a forum remotely related to your question/device.

I cannot believe how rude you guys are. Why don't you Sven and Victor go
get a life. If you cannot be nice get out of the Discussion Groups, you do
not belong there.

You are probably right. No reason to even respond to a question in a
newsgroup that is dedicated to a technology that has been out of production
for over three years. Especially if it is in reference to a device that is
not what the forum is about. I think Doug adequately answered the original
question, and made a point about giving folks a chance to answer. It's not
as if those that answer questions here are paid to do so, and it is
impertinent to expect answers immediately. My point was that a more
detailed and possibly more timely answer might be achieved if it was posted
in a iPod forum on an Apple news server. Victor's point may be that having a
Zune, vice an iPod might have averted the issue in the first place, tongue
in cheek, I suppose.

I do notice that all of us were willing to stand by our posts, rude, tongue
in cheek, condescending as they may have been, with our own names. Nice of
you to stop by a month after the fact, to set us straight.

You just proved my point again. No reason ever to be rude. People type in a
question on a search engine and it takes them to a discussion group and they
ask a question. People search for answers BECAUSE they don't have the answer
and may not even know enough where to begin. So, just be nice patient and and
helpful when able. Your post was none of these things, therefore completely
useless and unnecessary.

ps. and i only ended up on the discussion group because of a search that i
did in google. and it was not the right place to be either. i w
as just appalled and shocked by the responses enough to reply.

Doug, Are you saying from Windows Media Player you cannot transfer
music from your library or a CD to an ipod? What about music purchased from
Napster, can that be transferred to an ipod? I am having such a time moving
my music to my new ipod...
Thanks!!!

Yeah Doug you don't need to be a rude smartass, not everyone is right into
computors etc. and this site is exactly where everyone ends up when they
search for answers to questions re. ipods!! Anyway my ipod won't work either
when trying to download or sync from computor to ipod, IT IS RIDICULOUS, the
mediaplayer won't even recognise the ipod when you create a sync list. No
wonder only weirdo's with too much time can be bothered using them. I give
up! Do you have to use itunes? Rip It should give user warnings if this is
the case!?

I originally came to this page to find some iPod information but now I have
forgotten what I was looking for, instead I would like to commend Doug and
Sven for not slapping those respect less children until they understand what
rude really is.
