Media centre upgrades and signal

I used to have Media centre XP 2005 which worked but then when I disconnected
and re-connected the computer it does not work. However the card does work
if I use the Hauppauge driver (V6) and their software.

1. media Centre claims to be getting no signal whereas there is a good
signal on all channels (5 antenna and 1 cable/set-top box)
2. I cannot download the upgrades (rollup 2 onward to October 2006 as they
are no longer on the MS site (though they say they are). Why?

None of this particularly worries me save for the timed recording feature in
media centre which is quite useful. Any help appreciated so long as it is not
so technical I willl not understand it (e.g. registry fixes, etc)
