I am completely new to this type of setup. We have a dish network box
that we'd like to connect to our computer. The computer is already
connected to our TV and we use it as our monitor via HDMI cable. That
works without any problems.

I have the cable box with the coax coming in then a coax going out to
the TV Tuner card in the computer. Do I need an svideo cable from the TV
Tuner card to the TV also?

The O/S is Media Center Edition SP3. I went through the wizard and it
does detect the box and signal. I go through the steps and it tells me
IR Hardware not detected.

First I need to know if i'm missing any cabling to get the Cable TV to
work on the TV.

Thanks
Dave

You can use either SD Coax OR SD S-Video. You will getbetter PQ with
S-Video.
If you do not have an MC compatible IR receiver and MCE remote with one of
the IRblassters connected and mounted on the STB you can not control it from
MC.
