Vista 32bit w/Service Pack 2
Lots of memory, I believe all the current patchwes are up to date.
TV Tuner: Hauppauge WinTV HVR-1850 (Model 85xxx, Combo ATSC/QAM, 888 DIF)

After installing the tuner and the appropriate software (WINTV 7.02xx),
scanned the digi cable and all worked as expected (FIOS QAM).

I wanted to try WMC, so I uninstalled all the card drivers, software and
registration items for the card. Reboot, install just the drivers folowing
Hauppauge's instructions.

Reboted and expected that WMC would pick up the card. No such luck.
Followed the instructions on the WMC site - entering windows media center in
the search pane - nothing returned.

I do believe that the WMC appeared when I first installed the tuner but I
dismissed it for the wintv software.

I am at a complete loss and would appreciate some direction with getting WMC
running the tuner card..

Many thanks in advance

I have the drivers and WinTV 7 software from the Hauppauge Website installed
on my Vista 32 system and I have not trouble running my tuner in either
Media Center or Win7.
Note standard Vista Media Center does not support clear QAM digital only OTA
digital.
So if you want clear QAM use the WinTV 7 application until you upgrade to
Windows 7 which does have support for clear QAM in Media Center.

Which drivers (Specifically, please), which tuner are you running with no
problems? I also have NO problems (or little if any with WIN7). Just can't
get WMC to appear. Thanks

"Standard" opposed to "Not standard?" My system is Vista 32 bit, Home Premium.

OK about not supporting QAM, (Should support ATSC?) shouldn't Media Center,
appear? TV Tuner: Hauppauge WinTV HVR-1850 (Model 85xxx, Combo ATSC/QAM.

How can I get Media Center to run?

Thanks for your patience.

I have a different model tuner.
I do not have different drivers for MC and for WinTV on my system the
current drivers from their website for my card support either application
and the same should be true for your card.
What kind of antenna do you have connected to the ATSC/QAM input connector?
Have you tried connecting cable to your analog input connector to get analog
cable channels?
Can you play a DVD in Media Center on your system?
What happens when you try to set up TV in Media Center?
There are some special hacks for standard Media Center in Vista 32 Home
Premium around that will get QAM but users seem to have trouble with them
and with Win 7 just over a month away IMHO it is better to wait.
