A friend of mine can't get any of my files any longer. He is online (also
shows up online at the Sync website), he's set to automatically download, but
doesn't download. In his settings in Sync, the "NAT Configuration" section is
disabled
(grayed out) and at UPnP Gateway line it says "None found".
Worked great 2 weeks ago.

I see that this has been brought up before, but couldn't see if a solution
was found.
Any news on this?

A 3rd party Firewall perhaps?

He has Windows XP firewall enabled, and we've checked that Windows Live Sync
is on the allowed-list. But could there be a firewall inside the DSL
modem/router?

That's a possibility, though it should be able to navigate the firewall. The
greyed out ports and the UPnP not found message don't mean that Live Sync won't
work. Have your friend try reinstalling Live Sync on that PC, including removing
the device from the Live Sync web site before the reinstall. That often kick
starts the ability to sync once again.

Removing and reinstalling didn't help, unfortunately. We even tried to
disable the firewall, but that didn't help either.
