I only use Windows Live Mail for the newsgroups reader. Does anyone know of
a command line (or similar) that will open the newgroups reader
automatically when WLM is launched?

I believe this question was answered recently. Click on the shortcut for WLM
and right click. Select Properties and in the Target: field, at the end of
the location of the program, put "/news" (minus the quotes), click Apply
then OK. It should start as you desire.

Sorry, click the "shortcut" tab, then append the /news to the Target:
line...

Forgot to mention, if using Outlook as the primary email client and OL is set as the default email client, then consider this
shortcut for WLM News mode.
"C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Mail\wlmail.exe" /outnews

Doing so will allow one to click on the Mail icon or shortcut in the lower left of WLM and load Outlook 2003/07
- Note: if prompted to set OL's newsreader as the default news client, say No.
