How to eliminate the forwarding hashmarks and vertical lines

In Outlook Express, there was an "Edit HTML" option you could select and the
delete everything that said "Blockquote" as well the hash mark in front and
after, such as this: <Blockquote .........etc, etc ...> One all occurrences
were deleted, the >>>marks and the vertical lines were gone from the email
about to be forwarded.
Is there anything that works for Live Mail 2007 ?? I read somewhere that the
"Ctrl-F2" combination brings up an HTML editor. It does, but when I delete
the Blockquote thingies and hit "save". nothing happens.
So far not overly impressed with Live Mail vs Outlook Express.

An 'Edit' or 'Preview' Html option is not available in WLM.
Control F2 is primarily used for displaying the raw source code of an html message not necessarily editing and complying with WLM's
message file type requirements.
WLM saves messages (incoming and outgoing) as individual *.eml or *.nws file types. Those file types are required.
Thus any editing of a message before or after sending needs to preserve the required file type.

Now then, since you are obviously connected to Microsoft and knew that WLM
does NOT contain an HTML editor, but that Outlook Express did, I find it
very difficult to believe that I am the only one who bewails the absence of
such a feature. So instead of telling me what DOESN'T work, might you have
any suggestions to a work-around to WLM's obvious shortfall .... nothing is
uglier than forwarding a message with vertical lines down the left side or
indent hash-marks on every single line ...

I don't use WLM regularly because it "does not" indent news replies.

First can I question which version of WLM you are using, you originally said
"Live Mail 2007"?
Regarding the indent on forwarding:
Have you checked out the settings for such at top left icon with no
name>options>mail>Send tab>Look at the HTML settings, is add indent
selected?
What is your mail sending format set to? Try Plain or HTML.
Is "reply to messages in the format that they where received" selected?
Try a combination of the above settings to see if you can achieve what you
want.

Let's go back to the beginning.
First, no such thing as WLM 2007 existed. The first released version was 2008. Versions thereafter were 2009, 2011, 2012.
- You're properties indicate you are using 2012.
For 2012, there is no work-around available in WLM beyond configuring outbound messages to not insert the vertical bar
- Alt F/Options/Mail/Send/<click Html Settings under Mail and/or News Sending format> and uncheck Indent.
Control F12 only opens the message in your default html viewer and accordingly saves files in the file types supported by that
editor. If that editor can't save to a *.eml or *.nws file it is not going to be of much assistance since WLM can only process eml
or nws file types.
If you wish to edit the html of an eml or nws message you will have to follow the route that stationery users/creators do for
WLM.....edit the code in another program and paste the code into the eml/nws message retaining the file type extension when saving.
- eml and nws message are text files and can be opened in any program capable of opening a *.txt file
Note: When doing the above, ensure you retain the integrity of headers that WLM created.
Other options...forward in plain text.
