In my Windows Live Mail I don't know how to export my Live Mail Contacts.
How can I do like that?

Hi, Gary
I opened the contacts but could find just IMPORT. No export at all.
Can you show me how?

You need to update to WLM 12.0.1365.

Evidently you are running an older build of Windows Live Mail.
The Export feature was added by build 12.0.1365 which was
released on September 5th.

Hi, Gary

You know I lives in China.
It is better for me to use Chinese version WLM Beta2.
Do you know where I can find Windows Live Mail Beta2 Chinese version???
Or maybe this Chinese version have not been published yet. I will have to
wait some days. Is it the case?
I need your opinions about this.

Thank you.

This post does not have a References: header.
Hence it was grouped but not threaded by WLM.
(E.g. in a Watched thread this post appeared at the bottom
not marked watched.)

Did you start your reply with Ctrl-g (Reply to Group)
in which case it looks like a bug in your version
or did you reply in some other way?

BTW I don't have any answers for your questions.

My understanding is that the Beta 2 version (build 1365) was only
released in US English. The FAQ at
http://get.live.com/betas/maildesktop_FAQ
is not very helpful, and the Release Notes link on that page won't even
come up for me, so I can't refer you to something definitive.

My advice would be to wait until a newer Chinese language version
is released.

According to the WLM developers blog build 12.0.1184.0517 was available in a
Chinese version but the post on the most recent build 12.00.1365 just
references an English version.

I was talking about the current version of Windows Live Mail (build 12.0.1606).
You may be using an obsolete older version.

So what could be done now? I'm sitting here with 205 contacts in my WLMD. I
need to reinstall Windows... SOS!! :)

Sounds like you first need to upgrade Windows Live Mail to the latest
version, after which you can export your contacts.

If the account is tied to a Hotmail account, logon to the Hotmail.com
and export the contacts to a *.csv file.

If a pop3 account and a prior email client was in use, the contacts(pre
WLM) would still be available in that clients address book unless
deleted earlier.

As mentioned, upgrading to the current version would be another option,
though as insurance, it might be wise to copy the entire contents of the
contact storage folder to another location(e.g. jump drive). If it
fails, the contacts can be copied to the new WLM folder.
