Very frequently when I close Windows Live Mail, or switch beween mail
accounts, I get a message saying it is Purging folders, which is followed
immediately by an error message saying that the server disconnected so it
could not be completed.

I am using AOL addresses, and am running Windows 7 Professional.

Is there something I can do to eliminate this annoyance?

You can reduce the frequency. At Tools (ALT+T), Options, Advanced,
Maintenance you can specify whether to purge deleted messages when
leaving an IMAP folder.

But it has to be done eventually. AOL uses IMAP and with that, WLM
mirrors the server folders. And so when you delete a message in WLM it
has to eventually tell the server about that so that it can do the same.

Thanks, I looked there, but the box is not checked for purging when I leave a
folder. To access my AOL accounts, I have used Outlook Express, Mac Mail,
and other programs for years, and have never encountered a problem until now
with Windows Live Mail. Any other ideas?
