Windows Live Mail encountered an unexpected problem while displaying this
message. Check your computer for low memory or low disk space and try again.
I've searched Google and hundereds of people have experienced the same
problem but no solution seems to work (for most people atleast). I've
reinstalled WLM but nothing. I'm using XP SP2. If anyone knows of another
solution that has worked please share it.

But what's the solution for WLM? What has Micro$oft done about it?

The only thing I can think of, is when I was downloading mail, my Avast
popped up saying there was a trojan contained in the mail so I deleted the
email through avast, and I guess I am now left with this. ... So bloody
annoying.
If so, use your web browser to log onto your account via the webmail
interface. Open your mail inbox and delete the message.
Then, open Internet Explorer, click on Tools | Internet Options |
Browsing History | Delete ... and delete your Temporary Internet Files.

The subject of the original post was "WLM cant download message".
Based upon that subject line, I assumed that the message had not been
downloaded to your computer - and was sitting in your inbox on your
ISP's Mail Server. Consequently, I recommended that you open your web
browser, log onto your email account via your ISP's webmail interface,
and delete the message from your inbox. I also recommended that you
should delete the Temporary Internet Files on your computer.
Did you log onto your mail account via the webmail interface? Was the
message still there and if so, did you delete it?
If my original assumption was incorrect - and WLM did download the
message to your computer, try the following:
Confirm the location of the WLM Message Store on your computer by
opening WLM. Click on Tools | Options... | Advanced | Maintenance |
Store Folder ... . (On my computer, the message store is at
C:\Documents and Settings\[My identity name]\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail\[Name of the mail account]).
Each email will be in a separate file in the format xxxxxxxx-yyyyyyyy
(where yyyyyyyy is a serial number, starting with 00000001). Use "trial
and error" to identify the corrupted message - and delete it.
If that doesn't solve your problem, save all your emails to a different
location. Delete the corrupted mail account in Windows Live Mail - then
reinstall the mail account.
I suppose that as a last resort, you could uninstall and reinstall WLM -
unless any other contributor to this newsgroup has a better suggestion.
uninstall live mail then reenstall and hope it will cure the problem
It might be possible to solve this type of problem by forcing a
reindexation of the message store. The database record of the file
doesn't tally with the reality (for example if the file has been
deleted from the file system either by the user or by another
application). To do this, go to [Tools >] Options > Advanced >
Maintenance. Check the option to 'Compact the database on shutdown
every n runs' and change n to 2. OK your way out and close WLMail
down. Wait a minute, then open it up again. Click on a mail folder
other than the one that's selected, then close WLMail down again.
You should get asked whether you want to recover unused disk space -
click Yes, and the compaction (and reindexing) process starts. When
it's done, open up again and see if the problem persists. Then come
back here and tell us whether this helped.

If you could tell me where the the quick view folder is on my computer maybe
I could find/delete from there? I'm not very technical so bear with me on
this.
Thanks again for your help.
Wendy
To repair the broken Quick views, delete the registry value "SearchFolderVersion" under the registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail. This will cause WLM to rebuild its
Quick view data store when it is next started.
If you are unfamiliar with editing the registry, you could simply use PaulM's script:

Windows Live Mail is not compatible with Windows 10. Please use
something else like Microsoft Outlook (Subscription is payable for
this) or Mozilla Thunderbird - free email and news reader. You
can import your mails in these two apps.
