If I wish to download and use Windows Live Mail, do I have to have it set up
to synchronize with my Hotmail account. Windows Mail is not working for me
and if Windows Live Mail will work to allow me to sychrinize several email
accounts including GMail and ISP provided mailbox then i will use it.

Can it be used for email accounts without Hotmail?

Does Windows Live Mail include banner ads or is the interface purely
dedicated to containing functionality?

Yes, you can use Windows Live Mail without Hotmail. With Hotmail you get
roaming Address Book.

Hi, Bradley.

I've been using OE from its beginning and now WM/WLMd/WLM, upgrading to
12.0.1365 just today. I have 3 POP3 mail account, and I've never used
Hotmail at all. ;<)

The reason I went with OE, switching from Netscape and a few other email
accounts about 10 years ago, was that OE would let me check email accounts
at multiple POP3 servers. With the others, I had to hang up and dial the
other ISPs to get the mail from each account.

Netscape Communicator could only be configured to use
one outgoing server (smtp). This was even the case up until
that horrid Netscape 6 (I beta tested that crap).
