Your problem is that you are specifying the smtp server is using ssl but
you're using the port for a non-ssl smtp server. To correct this you
need to go to Tools - Accounts and click on the GMail account then click
on properties. Click on the Advanced tab change the 25 to either 465 or
587 (both will work). Click ok till you're back in WLM. You should now
be able to send email.

That error means gmail returned E_BUSY, did you see this while gmail was
down?

Port 465 would not be both . . . . . Who is your email provider - the
part after the @ symbol? And if you have any error messages, please copy
and paste them in your post.

Right-click on your error message, copy, then paste it into a reply here.
We can't do much troubleshooting without the complete error message.

Include the FULL error message. Copy/paste to avoid typos (in WLM click
on the error message to highlight, then Right click to copy or Ctrl-C to
copy then paste in your response - Ctrl-V).

The details matter. Port 465 works with some mail servers but not
others. Additional settings may be required.

Windows Live Mail has two modes of operation each mode has its own contacts.
1. Signon to Windows Live with a Live ID (Live ID mode)
2. No sign on to Windows Live (Default mode)

Contacts are unique to the mode you operate(1 or 2) and each mode has its own Contacts database.
Your options to have the same contacts
1. Operate in one mode only
2. Import your contacts from one mode to the other(any changes made in one thereafter would have to made in the other)

Fyi...you contacts are not on your Primus account in WLM. By not signing in you are operating in mode 2, the default Mode. When you switch modes, the contacts associated with that Live ID are in use. No switching is permitted between modes. To change modes, sign out or sign in.

The above allows folks with multiple Live IDs to maintain separate contacts unique to that Live ID(any Live ID can be used to signon and have its own set of contacts) and also an addition set in mode 2

Finally, when using Mode 1, your contacts are automatically backed up and stored on the server(also accessible at Contacts.live.com)

First thing to check: right-click on the account name in the Folder pane and select Properties. On the Servers tab, do you have both 'My server requires authentication' and 'Log on using clear text authentication' selected? If not, do so and try sending again. You might have to clear out your Outbox (below the account folders in the Folder pane) before you can send successfully.

Winston has responded to the problem with your contacts in
WLMail. You ou will need to check the account settings in WLMail
for both accounts.

You will find recommended settings for your primus mail account
at http://resisupport.primus.ca/en/email/248. The help page
tells you how to configure Windows Vista Mail. Although the
appearance of the menus is slightly different in WLMail, you can
use the same settings.

Under the servers tab, your user name is your full email address,
not just the part that precedes @primus.ca. You should select
'Log on using clear text authentication. For outgoing mail, you
must also check the box marked 'My server requires
authentication'.

For your Gmail account, open WLMail. In the Mail Accounts /
Advanced tab, change the port number to 465, with a secure (SSL)
connection. If that doesn't work, try port 587.

i was getting this message every time i was trying to send out an email to all my clients. i think it is some kind of spam prevention thing because when i cut down the number of BCC emails i had it going to it finally sent. so i'll just send emails out to batches of 20 recipients and it seems to be working now.

WLM does have a limit on the number of recipients (hard coded, not a
registry setting) ...that same constraint was in Hotmail's Wave 4
release and coincidental with the release of WLM2009. The code continues
in later versions of WLM (all legacy ware), though some variation exists
between WLM and later Hotmail and Outlook.com web UI releases. The MSFT
Team responsible for WLM validated that feature years ago on the now
defunct Windows Live forums. What is suspected, since its similar to
with the same constraint and predates WLM, is the 'spamming protection'
for multiple versions and releases (5 through 10.0) MSN Explorer
software for dial up/byo broadband subscription members.

Thanks. This was the problem 0x800CCC0B in my case.

Getting a 32-bit error code can fool you into thinking that it is specific and informative. Unfortunately, this thread shows that this is just a catchall error that can be caused by a multitude of things.
