Tonight when I tried to login, I got the following notice:
-- QUOTE
You don't have an inbox ...yet
Sign up for Windows Live Hotmail and get a free, customizable inbox with
lots of storage and great security.
Note: Whether you use Hotmail or not, you can always go to your contact
list.
-- END QUOTE
WHAT IN THE HELL HAVE THEY DONE NOW??
I don't want any Messenger or Friends List or any of that other shit -- I
just want my regular Hotmail account back --now.
And, as usual, there's no way to contact whoever it is that screws up
Hotmail.
What can I do short of driving to Redmond, CA, and shooting someone???
You don't have an inbox...yet
Sign up for Windows Live Hotmail and get a free, customizable inbox with
lots of storage and great security.
Note: Whether you use Hotmail or not, you can always go to your contact
list.
AND NOW IT'S WORSE.
I have two other Hotmail accounts that are linked to my websites. I tried
to login to them and got the same message.
What the hell has happened to Hotmail?????? I used all three of these
accounts about four hours ago and now I can't log in.
When I try to login, I get this message:
-- quote
You don't have an inbox ...yet
Sign up for Windows Live Hotmail and get a free, customizable inbox with
lots of storage and great security.
Note: Whether you use Hotmail or not, you can always go to your contact
list.

"You don't have an inbox...yet

lots of storage and great security.

I am getting really annoyed.
I'm with you guys, I'm getting so sick of Microsoft screwing things up
for everyone.

Since WLM includes a link to one's profile and account, and that site provides a link to Hotmail..it just as applicable in this
forum as it is in public.internet.mail and public.msn.discussion.
I'm sure you've read the message, though based on some post times and emails, not all accounts(including one of mine) have access
restored, but the content of the message(restored access or not) alleviates some of the unknown for all users regardless of email
client.

Hotmail and Windows Live ID experienced a service disruption starting at 8:44 PM (PST), which ended at 10:15 PM (PST), and during
this disruption you may have been told your inbox did not exist. This was incorrect messaging. Your inbox, contacts and Live ID are
all intact. We're all Hotmail customers, so we appreciate how frustrating this experience was. Thanks for your understanding. If
you're still getting errors, please close out all browsers and sign in again.

If Msft would have better foresight in reuse/rebrand/regurgitating names then folks might have a better chance of finding the right
location.
To many in the public and its been the same for years the following will always equate for someone.
MSN=Hotmail=MSN Hotmail=Windows Live Mail=Windows Live Mail Desktop=Windows Live Hotmail=Windows Live Mail
I am also convinced that on some topics, some of us, due to our knowledge base, can do a better job than the difficult to negotiate
Hotmail Solution Center. If you read some of my responses in the Solution Center, you'll find they are mostly corrections to
existing....ie..it might be the right place, but not the most accurate(at this time).

That e-form link/url started redirecting to the Windows Live Hotmail Solution Center shortly the web site went public.
The only valid e-form support for Hotmail is for Hotmail Plus accounts
Hotmail Plus Support
https://support.live.com/default.aspx?productkey=wlmailplus
- A Hotmail Plus(subscription/fee-based) account is entitled to Chat, Email and Phone Support
Once signed in with valid 'Hotmail Plus' Live ID, the following two categories and options will be available.
1. Customer Service(Interactive Chat, Email Support, Phone Support)
2. Technical Support(Email)
Clicking E-mail will load an unique e-form for Customer Service or Technical Support.
Feel free to save the above for Hotmail Plus support or redirect folks to this link with step by step instructions

Close WLM, then using IE logon to mail.live.com, if prompted enter the string of characters for validation, verify that you can
access your online mailbox, close IE.
Open WLM, sign on to Windows Live with that same Live ID, then retest..
If it still fails...contact Hotmail Support and/or Live ID support.
